Now I'm holding out, For a better side of me, Too late to look back down, Made it this far in spite of me. Maybe you'll say, On that day, "I love you. I do." Taking off these dollar store shoes, Gonna put my feet up for a while, Ground myself on carpet shine, Hoping that lack of sleep will make me smile. Maybe you'll say, On that day, "I love you. I do." It's not fair. Time's not on my side, So let me compare, The status quo and my heart inside. So, give me a week or two, To find a better part of me, Let me get back to you, Give you the very heart of me. Maybe you'll say, On that day, "I love you. I do."

Home with Me 04:18
All you'll have to do, Is turn your pretty head, And I'll be lying next to you, I'll keep you safe and warm. All you'll have to say, Is, "Lie here, baby." "Lie next to me all day." And I will. 'Cause it's cold When you go it alone. Let me hold you, dear, Know you are home, Home with me, Home with me. Home with me, Home with me.

The itinerary penned across the palm of his hand Is smeared now that she is here sitting next to him. The estuary flowing from his heart to her smile Is bursting from within its banks just like the flooding Nile. And all you see is new to me, Adoring you as mine. And learning of our symmetry, I haven't had the time. The incompetent man I call myself is mumbling from his lips. His tongue and his teeth won't let him speak but tell of his ignorance. He's nervous as a shaking leaf, and he trembles in her breeze, But she flashes her reassuring smile, putting him at ease. And all she knows is what he shows, As they drive away from her place, Rolling down the dusty window, Lighting up her face. The reddish-orange palette of the evening-coloured sky, Will soon be lavishly chased away by the onset of night. As he clicks and switches his headlights on to illuminate the road, He gazes at her, sound asleep with her eyes gently closed. And tonight they drive, their hands entwined, Comfortable at last, And only the other on their mind, And in their love held fast.

One Day 05:51
It's not the storm That makes my heart to sway. It's steady like an anchor. So, tell me why I feel this way. It's not I don't love you. That would be untrue. It's just that some peace of mind, Is long overdue. One day, I only have one day at a time, And when I get weary I need to know that you'll be mine It's like my arms are Still warm from your tenderness But you're gone, you're gone, Now my arms are starting to miss Your love, your love, And I'm starting to miss you too. I wish there was something that I could do. It's not for a lack of better words. I can speak just fine. Maybe I've been fooling myself. Maybe loving just takes some time, But be gentle, babe, Be gentle with this heart of clay, Easiest to break When it's out on display. One day, I only have one day at a time, And when I get weary I need to know that you'll be mine It's like my arms are Still warm from your tenderness But you're gone, you're gone, Now my arms are starting to miss Your love, your love, And I'm starting to miss you too. I wish there was something that I could do. Won't somebody lend me a hand? Won't somebody try to understand me? But then the good Lord reaches out, And He tells me. Oh, that "One day, You only have one day at a time, And I know you get weary, But you need to know that you are Mine, And I know your arms, Are still warm from her tenderness, But she's gone, she's gone, I know your arms are starting to miss Her love, her love, But just know that she's missing you too. Know that she's missing, missing you too."

60 Downtown 04:52
Sweet relief, For this weary crowd, As the brakes release, And I sit back down. On the 60 Downtown, On the 60 Downtown, It's gonna take me home, The 60 Downtown. On the overpass, One more stop til my station, Gonna make this moment last. Hope is anticipation. On the 60 Downtown, On the 60 Downtown, It's gonna take me home, The 60 Downtown. Working overtime, In gray skies and stone, With this little heartache of mine, It's hard to keep a smile on. But the phone rings, And it's your name on display. Gets complicated, In a simple way. Open your heart, Let me know where you are. Don't be a mystery. You can always find me, On the 60 Downtown, On the 60 Downtown, On my way back home, On the 60 Downtown. Your lovin', babe, is a mystery to me. Don't make me crawl, make me fall to my knees. Your lovin', babe, is a mystery to me. Don't make me crawl, make me fall to my knees.
